This year we expect a challenging growing season. California is now officially under a drought emergency, with no prospects of any rainfall soon.
This winter was already extremely dry. Local farmers told me that a dry winter is usually followed by a low yield harvest.
On top of that, there may be upcoming restrictions to agricultural irrigation. Hopefully it will not come to that, dry farming of vineyards is not possible in this region. We'll do our part, and focus on irrigation measurement and management this year.
Meanwhile, we have our Cabernet Sauvignon private reserve vintage 2012 ready to be bottled in the next weeks.
The final step of wine making -the bottling- is always something to look forward to.
